How to grow a TikTok business account in Ghana
By Queen Sika
Most business owners on TikTok think the goal is to go viral. Many who aren't getting views think they are in "200 view jail". Both are chasing the wrong thing.
Views are not growth. Being discovered by people who actually feel the problem you solve is growth. Those are two very different audiences.
My own story: 290,000 followers and 40 million views
I once had a TikTok channel with 290,000 followers and over 40 million views. People still weren't buying my e-book. My content was educational and emotional. People loved it, said thank you, and moved on.
When you give people the answer for free, nobody feels any pain left to solve. Going viral on a trending sound brings people who came for the sound, not for what you sell. Maybe 1% of them will ever buy.
Followers, viral views and educational content do not convert on their own.
A real story: the proprietor with 500k followers
A school proprietor with about 500,000 followers came to me to learn how to run ads. His page taught people how to start a school, a susu business, microfinance and more. He got lots of "thank you" comments. He had already paid several people to run ads for him, with no returns.
When I looked at his pages and his offer, the problem was clear. His offer sounded like a lecture. It wasn't attached to any real pain proprietors were facing, so nobody felt a reason to pay. Ads would only have shown that same offer to more people.
Once we worked out the real challenge his audience had and he promoted to his own 500k page instead of paying for ads, he started making sales.
Why big pages still don't sell
- The audience came for entertainment or a trending sound, not for the problem you solve.
- The content teaches the answer, so viewers feel no need to buy.
- The offer isn't tied to a pain the buyer recognises in their own life.
- There is no professional place to buy, so interested people don't trust the next step.
How Content to Sales solves this
- A low-cost website or online store that shows everything a buyer checks before paying — your products, prices, reviews, delivery and return policies and a simple way to pay — so you can sell even while you sleep.
- A content system that helps you understand your buyer and their real pain, so your posts speak to the people who will actually buy — not just people who say thank you.
- A member community where businesses buy from each other, promote each other and leave real reviews — because getting reviews alone as a small business is hard.
- Business verification and a blue tick, so local and diaspora buyers can confirm you are real before they send money.
- Follow-up that keeps interested people warm, so buyers who are not ready today can still buy later — without you sounding like you are begging.
